It’s very complicated
“It’s Complicated” is a rare love story for women after menopause, and it’s hilarious. I hope Nancy Meyers is working on her next movie at this moment because her other flick for older chics, “Something’s Gotta Give,” also was hilarious.
The only problem with “It’s Complicated” was that the garden that the Meryl Streep character sometimes visited outside her house was not real. Each and every one of the vegetables was mature and perfect. A weed wouldn’t have dared pop up anywhere in that garden.
As I left the movie with my 19-year-old granddaughter, she said, “Grandma, I want you and me to make a garden like that in your backyard.” I didn’t have the heart to tell her that such gardens have never existed and never will.
The story might be real for people somewhere, but the garden was bigtime fake.
